Mar 10:
Sadie had her kids on Thursday the 8th but it was a terrible delivery. Sadie was in labor for about 18 hours because the first born was huge and breech. Sadie had to be rushed to Dr. West, our local vet, who delivered 2 still borns and a miracle baby. It was a terrible event for all involved but Sadie and one little miracle baby survived.
We put both in a private pen to get acquainted and recuperate. Come friday evening it was clear that Sadie was in no condition to raise a baby and had basically rejected her. In that day of getting nothing or very little to eat the doeling lost 10% of her body weight so we decided to intervene and have ourselves a bottle baby. We are saddened by the whole event but happy that Sadie is okay and ecstatic that we have a little treasure to raise.

Feb 12:
It has been cold all weekend and there was snow in the forecast. Lo and behold this late afternoon it actually starts to snow. Well I guess its as good a time as any to have some kids.
Donna and Delilah both had their kids today. Donna in the morning and Delilah in the evening. Donna had 2 bucklings and a doeling (one of the bucklings did not make it). Unfortunately we were not there for their birth hence we lost a buckling. Delilah also had 2 bucklings and a doeling. Glad we were there for that birth it was long and she needed some help not to mention it was snowing and freezing.

We have added a guestbook so those of you without a Facebook can leave a message. Let us know how your goats are doing, ask a question, tell us what you think, or just say "Hi."
We have added some pictures to our Facebook page of Charlie of Charlie's Acres keeping an eye on her goats.

All our does are growing full with kids and puffy with thicker coats. Poor girls don't run in from the pasture anymore they waddle.
We are expecting the kidding to start around the end of February and hopefully all 5 does will have kidded by the end of March.
Sept 5:
